Who Are We?

Wayne for Women is an organization focusing on raising awareness for racial disparities in infant and maternal mortality rates as well other women's health issues in Wayne County, Michigan and beyond.

Our Story

Wayne for Women was founded by Daman Gill in high school as a passion project. Since then, it has grown into a thriving initiative, now making its mark on the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus. With growing campus support, Wayne for Women aims to become a registered non-profit organization.

WFW has found success through collaborative events, partnering with organizations such as the Sleep Safe Initiative, SisterFriends Detroit, the Wayne County Commissioner's Office, and the Wayne County Health Department.

We are a multifaceted organization involved in research, advocacy, volunteering, donation drives, fundraising, article publications, and more. As the global health landscape faces unprecedented challenges, we are committed to promoting equity and improving public health outcomes.

Thank you for your time and support in building a more just and equitable world.
Wayne for Women is public health advocacy in action.
